The network project has been active since April 2012 and is promoted by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. The primary idea of this network is the development and modification of new analytical methods in the area of water monitoring which focuses on toxin-forming algae and cyanobacteria.

The aim is linking monitoring and restoration/renaturation of waters, which are polluted by algae and cyanobacteria.

Therefore, this network utiles companies and organisations for modern analytics and complex samples. Utilization of living and dead algae biomass (particulary water reservoirs) is also in the focus of this network.

The use of new technologies from different partners can help to develope a universally applicable “Analytic-Kit” for various algae and measuring problems (water monitoring, biomass control, product control, consumer protection…)
